Since Project Periwinkle was started, we have had many partners and sponsors that helped us to progress to this point. At the beginning of 2023, we resumed in person events and have had an outpouring of support from our local community. We are so thankful that these organizations find Project Periwinkle as a worthy cause to give a portion of their philanthropic budget to. This has taken shape in many different ways: auction items, event sponsors, time investment by board members, participants in the Innovators’ Circle, and much more.

Some of the incredible local organizations that stepped up with auction items include: many of the St. Louis sports teams (Blues, Cardinals, CITY SC), BarK, Missouri Botanical Garden, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Forest Park Golf Course, and many more. These auction donations helped us raise thousands over the course of 2 separate events.

We also had over 20 event sponsors that helped thousands of dollars as well. The sponsors were a mix of local businesses and families, such as Ben’s family, Project Periwinkle’s board members, our family insurance agency, and many of the businesses and families that we already know from our personal and work lives. The beautiful but also difficult thing about many of these event sponsors is that almost every one of them have had a loved one affected by cancer. Many of the sponsors chose to donate in memory or honor of their loved ones, which we include on the sponsor slideshows and feel is a noble way to honor them.

One of the unique things about our board is that it is made of people that are exceptionally close with the founder Ben from his personal life. Ben has brought in his family members, and friends from different parts of life. This has led to a very close knit board. Being 100% volunteer based, that is extremely important since we work together very often in collaborative efforts, such as marketing, podcasts, and events. The board members’ close relationships and their time investment into the organization helps us ensure that we are putting donors’ dollars to good use.

Lastly, we introduced the Innovators’ Circle last year in 2023 to recognize donors that exceed a certain threshold of giving on an annual basis. Many of the people that are included in this group of donors are local. We greatly appreciate all of these people and strive to recognize them as a partner in our goal to one day end cancer. That’s what it’s all about and we thank all our partners: local and throughout the world. Let’s keep striving toward our mutual goal!
